About Saint James Community School
Saint James Community School is an orphanage located on Mfangano Island, situated in Lake Victoria, Kenya. The island is home to around 30,000 people and holds the largest population of the Suba people. However, the rise in HIV/AIDS on the island has resulted in an extremely high number of orphans. George Ooko, the founder of Saint James Community School, along with four other teachers, provides support to over 100 of these orphans. Additionally, the school needs assistance in raising funds to provide salaries for the teachers, as well as nutrition for the children.
